Elements of a Woman's Days

| Oct. 1st, 2007 01:57 am No Kid Nation for me! Of all the new shows on TV this Fall (and some look fairly good and some just OK), I will NOT be watching "Kid Nation". I consider that show as a waste of time for me and for the kids "acting" in it. No thanks. How irritating! I probably won't be watching "Reaper' either. I mean why? Yuck. I might watch "Back to You" - I like the actors in it. Where is another "I Love Lucy"? or something to brighten me up at the end of a long day? The closest thing to that is "Reba". But I've seen all the "Reba" episodes 10 times each. LOL. Anyway, just my 2 cents worth. Have a good week . . . Current Mood: nauseated Current Music: something by Elton John

| Jul. 23rd, 2007 05:13 am It's over! My knee operation to repair my torn cartiledge is finally done, and I'm glad. First, we went to the wrong surgery center. Luckily, the other was near by, but the traffic was against us. I was getting nervous. Once I got checked in, It all went fairly quickly and everyone was really great to me. Friendly and medically thorough. Last I remember was looking up at the operating room lights, which were turned off. I wondered how bright they would be when turned on. Never found out. Seems like minutes when I awoke again in the recovery room, and felt good, but of course hungry and extremely thirsty. About 30 minutes had passed, I think, since I'd gone in the operating room. Ah, my husband has been waiting on me hand and foot, and I must admit I'm enjoying that. That and a cup of coffee at last! LOL. After two days, the pain set in finally. I knew it would. Up until then it had still been numb. Well, I just made use of those pain pills; but after a day of that, grew tired of the groggy feeling and switched to Tylenol. Now the pain seems to be subsiding gradually, so that's good. I want to be in decent walking shape for our company coming, rather than hobbling around like I've been doing, but I don't want to over-do and wreck anything either. It will be so good though to be able to walk without that darn underlying pain all the time. I'm ready and "good to go"! (Or will be soon.) Time to spread my wings and fly. Wheeeeee . . . | Jun. 21st, 2007 02:32 am Air Supply sang in my church! What are the odds? First, I must insist, of all the things that irk me the most are people's cell phones going off at events. I am always extremely careful to turn mine off even before I go in a place. Well, I turned my cell phone on while driving to church the other day because I thought my husband, already over there, might call and ask, "Are you still planning on church today?" it being Father's Day and all. Mercy me! I totally forgot to turn that cell phone off, and guess what??? Yep, halfway through the service, my daughter turned to me and hissed, "Can't you hear your cell phone? Turn it off." I was horrified, and grabbed for it as it rang out it's ring tone out loud and clear, Air Supply singing, "Here I Am". I turned it off and whispered to my daugher, "Do you think anyone heard that?" She whispered, "Everyone was looking at you!" At least it was an appropriate song. Better "Here I am, the one that you love . . ." in church than "All out of love and so lost without you . . ." Although, maybe either would be appropriate, depending on the person/sinner. Right? Later on, at coffee and cake for the dads, I pretended nothing had happened. But in the future, you can bet, I'll be extra careful. Who called? My son from far away, wanting to say "Happy Father's Day" to my husband. A really nice idea, but . . . not convenient at that time. Oh, and I'm kind of glad I never got "Making Love Out of Nothing At All" on my phone yet. LOL - Happy ring-toning trails to you! | Feb. 21st, 2007 05:11 am Wishing and Hoping? Wishing and Hoping? Well, sort of. More like Painting and Cleaning. We got our bathroom shower re-tiled, and then I decided it would be a good time to put a fresh layer of paint on the walls. I got two walls done, but I can find no time to do the rest during the week! Maybe this weekend I can squeeze in a moment or two. Hope so. Now, right, the shower curtain looks . . . well, drab. And we ripped the new shower curtain liner putting it back up. I tell you, one thing leads to another! Yes, I guess I AM wishing and hoping. That this project will come to an end and get done so I can go on to other things. Heh, heh, heh! One good thing though, that ridiculously cold "cold" is supposed to finally come to an end now. I actually had to scrape icy frost off my car windows the other morning. I had nothing to scrape with. I ended up scraping them with a tiny 1 inch wide and long Listerine breath strips pocket packet. That sure took a long time! And the packet is ruined. Oh well, that's how it goes. Warm air - COME ON DOWN! All the best to you . . . . . . | Jan. 30th, 2007 05:13 am Cold! It is freezing in Florida! Honestly. We got below the freeze mark. Get out the wool Long Johns. LOL Whomever sent this cold, windy air to us from up north, please keep it next time. I'm bringing my portable heater to work. That's it for now. Yep, still freezing. Burrrrrr . . . . . . . | Dec. 23rd, 2006 07:08 am It's not easy being sick! Hey, Can I complain a little? All I can say is I guess it's better to be sick before Christmas than on Christmas. But are my cards done? No! Is my shopping done? No! Are cookies made? No! Are gifts all wrapped? No! Is the house cleaned? No! Sure glad we got the decorating done after Thanksgiving. This was one of the worst colds I've ever had. I took that medication to cut your cold in half, but with me it lengthened my cold by double. Maybe I didn't start it soon enough, but by the time you realize you have a cold - you're already sneezing and coughing. Before that - you don't realize you have something wrong. Well, it's pretty well done now, so I suppose I'll get on with my life. At last. On one of the worst mornings of my cold, I had to get up and go to work. I'd already been gone the day before. My clock radio woke me up, and I started thinking quite a few negative thoughts. Well, an Air Supply song came on and cheered me right up. That was nice. Above all, I sincerely hope you and yours having a happy and HEALTHY holiday. Many blessings . . . Current Location: recliner Current Mood: exhausted Current Music: Just As I Am

| Dec. 14th, 2006 06:20 am Thanksgiving! Wow! Time flies, doesn't it? Lots has happened . . . including people bumping into me in parking lots and yelling and getting the flu and then a cold and experiencing broken, leaky water heaters and my web site (www.airsupplyheartandsoul.net) was down . . . and more. What cha gonna do? But we had a great Thanksgiving at my Sis's place and all family and friends enjoyed - so that's a good thing. Got the decor up for Christmas and the gifts purchased. Still working on the cards though. Looking forward to going on our first cruise too! Can't beat that for fun. All in all, I'm gratful for everything, especially family. Wishing you and yours a great holiday season. Take time to smell the roses - er - evergreens now! Take time . . . I absolutely must listen to myself more often. Hee, hee. | Aug. 6th, 2006 04:38 am Shop till you drop! Mmmmm . . . Saturday was good. Had a great day at the Mall. Especially enjoyed the Apple store and the tea store. Sooooo many kinds of tea. Just a little rain for two days, but I'm sure more will come on the scene like before. Thank goodness tropical storm Chris didn't turn into a major hurricane. Whew! What? Schools are about to open again! Where did summer go to? Time sure flies when you're having fun. Well, it's good for everyone, I guess. Makes people get organized at least. Hee, hee. Have a good and safe school year everyone! Current Mood: chipper Current Music: Re: The Scene

| Jul. 11th, 2006 06:37 am Legendary Well, we had a great vacation up north, but it's always soooo good to get back home again. We got to see the kids and our cute grandkids there, and that was really fun. What characters they are! Also saw some relatives and friends - and lots of fantastic scenery. Glad I had my camera along with to caputer all that. Seems there's lot's to do around home and at work now. Laundry galore. Got to catch up! Oh, and Care Bear has her knee surgery today. Good luck, Honey. I'm sure it will go well & I'll have to pamper you a bit, right? I got a new cd at the mall yesterday: Legendary Artists Series, "Air Supply All The Hits". Had to have it for my collection. Care Bear bought a Rachel Lampa cd. We listened to it on they way home in the car in a thunder storm. Very nice cd. She's a great singer! Looks like perfect weather so far today. That storm made it greener and more "flowery" than ever this summer, so far. Everything looks exceptionally lovely. Take care now . . . stop and smell the roses, as they say, along the way of your life. YES! Current Location: Home Current Mood: okay Current Music: Chances

It's wonderful that everybody had such a good time. And the Meet & Greet was super too, according to the fans I e-mail with. Can't wait to see some photos. I sincerely hope Hamilton becomes an annual event. Of course, Air Supply was on my radio just when I turned it on for my drive home from work today. Helps make the long ride OK. Can't beat that Duv radio station! http://wduv.com/ Have a real good week and stay safe and happy . . . Current Mood: content Current Music: Even the Nights Are Better

| Apr. 14th, 2006 06:00 am Ouch!!! It's amazing how a bad backache can keep you from doing anything and everything. It hurt to move in any direction! I had one for three days and believe me - I'm so glad it seems to be finally going away. Went to the Dr, got X-rays. It will be interesting to learn the results. Meanwhile, I'm upping my calcium/vitamin D intake. Be well . . . Devoted Current Mood: frustrated Current Music: The Power of Love

| Apr. 6th, 2006 06:38 am Dentist sings Air Supply??? Well, I must say - even though I don't like having dental work done (who does?), some things make it all seem better. I have a dentist that tells jokes, has the Duv (60's, 70's, 80's) radio station playing, employs great hygienists and staff, and the dentist himself singing along (he's a good singer too!). Hi, Dr. S! While I was waiting with a roll of cotton in my mouth - an Air Supply song came on over the speakers. The dentist, as usual, sang along. He really seemed to enjoy "Even the Nights Are Better". Probably as much as I would have, had I not had the cotton roll in my mouth! Oh well, don't have to go back until my 6 month checkup.

| Feb. 25th, 2006 06:36 am Fabulous, of course! OK! That brand new CD/DVD "The Singer and the Song" album is fabulous. Different than most other of the Air Supply albums, being acoustic. But just so fun and amazing. There's a great little booklet with photos (thanks to Lady Jodi) included too. If you don't have it yet, you just don't know what you're missing.
Exciting weekend soon. Lots of events at my daughter's college. Looking out for the Bach Festival event! Super! You all have a good one too . . . and safe as well. -Devoted2as

| Feb. 9th, 2006 06:55 am The Singer, the Song, and the Smiths Wow! "The Singer and the Song" album arrived. Cover looks really nice. I got home late last night, but I plan to experience listening to it today. Can't wait. I finally got to see "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" the other day. It's the movie with Air Supply's song "Making Love Out of Nothing At All" playing in the scenes where it's on the car radio while the main characters are zooming around in their car trying to get away from the bad guys. A wild movie. It's really cool here. Burrrr. Keep warm!

| Jan. 31st, 2006 06:12 am A few good things . . . We've had lots of rain, but apparently we need the moisture, so that's good. I ordered "The Singer and the Song", so that's another good thing. | Jan. 25th, 2006 06:57 am I appreciate the Duv Things to mention . . .
I've just got to thank the Duv radio station for playing Air Supply so often. I hear them almost every morning driving on my way to work and almost every evening on my way home. I have a long ride both ways, so it's "a good thing" to be able to listen to the kind of music I like. I signed up for their newsletter at work a couple years ago, I think. Now I signed up for it at home too. You can listen to their broadcast over your computer because of streaming audio. How I'd love to hug the people who invented that! LOL. Here's the Duv website address:
